New Office Opening

On November 4th, 2024, our Codimite team gathered with tons of excitement to celebrate something we’d all been waiting for — the opening of our brand-new office!

The day kicked off with team members receiving their new office IDs, a small but meaningful token to mark this next chapter. Then, the opening ceremony started with a traditional Kandyan dance performance to the beat of traditional drums, setting the perfect mood for what was to come.

In a symbolic gesture marking this new beginning, our CEO, accompanied by Venerable monks, stood at the grand entrance, ribbon in hand. With the ceremonial scissor, they cut the ribbon, officially opening our new office. One by one, we all stepped inside, greeted by a beautiful, fresh space ready to become our new work haven. One of the most special moments of the morning was boiling milk, a beautiful Sri Lankan tradition for good luck and prosperity. As the milk bubbled over, it signified blessings and fresh beginnings for Codimite. It was a small but meaningful touch that connected our team to a tradition of warmth and new opportunities.

And of course, no celebration is complete without food! We gathered for a breakfast spread that had everything you could dream of: kiribath, lunu miris, delicious local treats like mun kavum, konda kavum, and kokis, plus savory bites like chicken pastries, veggie quiche, and rolls. Butter cake, tea, and coffee topped it all off, and let’s just say no one left hungry!

With full stomachs and happy hearts, we all started exploring our new workspace. The main entrance lobby immediately caught everyone’s eye, with a big Codimite logo proudly displayed. Around the office, motivational quotes and pictures brought a positive vibe, adding some serious character to the space.

The office is packed with cool spots, like a coffee station to keep us caffeinated, modern meeting rooms, and even a gaming area! Yes, you read that right—a spot just for ping pong, a foosball table, a pool table, and even a Playstation setup. For quieter moments, there’s also a library with a range of self-improvement books.

Next up was a lovely oil lamp lighting ceremony, which symbolized light, luck, and fresh beginnings for Codimite. Watching the lamps being lit felt special, reminding us all of how far we’ve come as a team. Finally, we all gathered in the hall for a speech from our CEO and a few members of our team. He shared his excitement about this new beginning and thanked the team for everything we’ve done to get here. His words made us feel proud to be part of Codimite and ready to dive into the future.

All in all, it was a fantastic day, filled with smiles, laughs, and a sense of togetherness. Our new office feels like the perfect place to grow, work, and make new memories as a team. Here’s to great times ahead at Codimite!
